I will be retiring on 31st December 2023
I am a City and Guilds qualified mobile mechanic and motor engineer with 56 years experience working in this area.
I’ve always lived in the Poulton area. I grew up on a farm and remember spending summer days as a teenager servicing and repairing the tractors, baling machines and other agricultural machinery. At age 12, I helped convert a Landrover from petrol to diesel. I began working in the motor repair trade at age 15 and served my four year apprenticeship with a main dealership. Since then I’ve worked for both dealerships and independent garages.
Over the years, I’ve worked on most vehicle types, including high performance and classic cars. Ford, VW, BMW, Kia, Honda, Hyundai, Rolls Royce, Jaguar, Vauxhall, Renault ... I’ve repaired or serviced pretty much every make of vehicle. Recently, it was my pleasure to work on the beautiful 1932 Morris Cowley Tourer pictured on this page. The car’s new owner wanted me to wire and fit new indicators as cars weren’t fitted with them at that time.
I’m a keen motorist and have a great respect for the road. In 2004 I took the advanced driving test with the the UK’s leading independent road safety charity. All IAM examiners hold a Police Advanced Driving Certificate and have extensive experience. I am chairman of our local group, Blackpool Fylde And Preston Advanced Motorists (BFAPAM) and along with a number of dedicated BFAPAM volunteers, I help people taking IAM RoadSmart courses to improve their driving and reach the advanced driving test standard.
As a mobile motor engineer and mechanic, no two days are the same. Monday may begin with a service, Tuesday with new brake shoes fitted and Wednesday with a fault diagnostic ... Whatever day of the week, I will respond promptly to your call. If I’m driving and cannot answer, please leave a message and I’ll get back to you.
I am committed to providing quality work and treating my customers fairly. I will always try to find the lowest cost option and best solution. All quotes are free and with no obligation.
